The joy of the holiday season is well behind us and summer fun is still beyond our reach. Consequently, it’s the time of year when a lot of us feel the winter blues. Although we are starting to see a little more sunlight in our day, we just can’t seem to get enough. That’s why now is the perfect time to light up your interior with the sunshine hue. So, let’s bring the sunshine in and beat the winter blues with yellow paint colour!
Beat the Winter Blues with Yellow Paint Colour
Yellow is a happy, warm, luminous colour. Hence, it lifts the spirits and lets the sunshine in wherever it’s employed. Additionally, as a highly reflective hue, yellow is a great choice for spaces that lack natural light.
A bright, sunny yellow is a vibrant, modern accent that adds warmth and energy to any space. Especially where you want a real change. For example, Benjamin Moore’s Banana Yellow 2022-40. When paired with black and white, it feels edgy, graphic and contemporary.
For a less intense yellow paint colour, choose one that is tempered with a little gray. For instance, Chestertown Buff HC-9, one of Benjamin Moore’s 2021 Trend Colours. It still has the power to draw your eye, but will pair better with most neutral tones, antiques, and traditional textiles.
If you want a pale, yet vibrant, yellow, try Beacon Hill Damask HC-2. It’ll add a touch of spring to last throughout the seasons. Also included in Benjamin Moore’s Colour Trends 2021 Palette, this luminous hue will inject any room with warmth and light!
Higher sheens provide more reflection, which optimize the sunlight in a room. In the bedroom pictured above, the walls, ceiling and trim make use of higher sheen finishes. This allows the light to bounce around and fill the space.
