Nature offers a calming ambience. So, draw from the beauty of nature to add comfort, warmth and texture to your home. To help you create a relaxing oasis in any room, here are some tips for adding nature-inspired colour and décor to your living space.

Bring the Outdoors in with nature-inspired Colour and Décor

Natural materials

Focus on the raw beauty of organic materials by playing with different combinations of texture. Firstly, incorporate artisan-crafted furniture and accents made with natural materials. This will instantly add an earthy feel. Rattan, wicker, sisal and sea-grass naturally have a tactile element that pairs well with earthy décor accents, such as clay, terracotta and hand-woven textiles.

Enhance with light

To best complement a nature-inspired story inside your home, bring the outdoor warmth inside by choosing pale to mid-tone hues of green, yellow and clay. Opt for colour-infused neutrals such as Guilford Green HC-116, Chestertown Buff HC-9 or Dusty Trail 1157. Also, paint finish has an impact on both the light in your space and the colour itself. So, consider an eggshell or higher sheen to bounce the light around or a matte finish for a less reflective effect on the wall.

Botanical trend

We often forget about the beauty of plants. A simple way to transport nature inside is to add live plants or fresh-cut flowers and branches. Not only will this improve your mood and air quality, but your space will also feel more serene. If natural light is limited, try the latest botanical trend or your favourite floral patterns on cushions, wall art and prints.
